One of the most significant decisions a couple makes aside from marriage and their faith is who do you select to design and build their first home. After a careful examination of the talent and quality outcomes in Memphis we chose Doug Enoch as our architect and Collins Construction as our builder. It is important to select a team who will help you realize your dream home and we were especially pleased with the design and build of our first custom home which was a country French design set on a wooded ridge. I’ve always heard nightmare stories about contractors. failing to follow through, properly communicate, under estimate costs of the job, and failure to finish. Collins construction is the opposite of all I’ve ever heard. David gave our project superior attention to detail. He is very conscientious and a man of character. When the work was completed under estimate he only charged the actual cost versus the estimated cost we were expecting. We’ve received many compliments on the finished product and are thrilled ourselves. David and his team are a cut above the rest and a joy to do business with.

When my wife and I decided to buy a house needing renovations, a large addition, new outdoor space and a pool, we counted on Collins Construction to help us along the way, and we are very glad we did. David, Rick and their team were responsive, focused, and reliable from beginning to end. Their work was delivered in a timely manner, and they simply did what they said they were going to do. David and Rick always displayed a patient, “can-do” attitude even when we changed our minds and considered different options midway through the project. One of their greatest assets is their ability to visualize how a certain detail on the plans might be improved on the job.  For instance, David suggested adding several old, reclaimed beams he had salvaged from an old building into the design of our expansion.  Using a series of clever connection details, David tied together an attractive mixture of old, repurposed stained wood beams with new painted wood columns. Most of all, Collins Construction’s crews and subcontractors were highly skilled, trustworthy and very pleasant to work with during the entire duration of the job. We wouldn’t hesitate for one second to use David and Rick Collins again on our next job.
